Case Results - State vs. MC a child

RESULT: Probation

MC was charged with 2nd Degree Felony Fleeing to Elude, 3rd Degree Felony Burglary of Unoccupied Structure, and 1st Degree Misdemeanor Obstruction of Justice. MC had a juvenile score sheet that could have gotten him detention without any ability for negotiation. Jason Mayberry negotiated a plea where the client pled to 3rd Degree Felony Fleeing to Elude, and 1st Degree Misdemeanor Obstruction of Justice. A condition of the plea negotiations was that the State Attorney’s Office would not recommend detention. Additionally, Jason Mayberry transferred the case to the client’s home county where the client could work with a trusted Department of Juvenile Justice representative very familiar with the client and his familial situation. After Jason Mayberry spoke with the DJJ representative, no detention was received and the client received probation only.
