RESULT: After evidentiary hearing, Citation DISMISSED

Client was cited for driving 81 miles per hour in a 55 miles per hour Construction Zone.  Client is a reconstructive plastic surgeon who was on the way to a trauma where timing was critical for the patient’s care.  Unfortunately, client did not have an emergency light in their vehicle indicating client was a doctor.  At hearing, Jason Mayberry cross examined the officer where the officer admitted that Jason Mayberry’s client said they were a doctor on the way to a trauma, that the trauma was time sensitive, client indicated they were a reconstructive plastic surgeon, and even showed the officer the medical coat with cient’s name stitched on it.  After hearing, the citation was dismissed.  The citing officer refused to dismiss the citation prior to the hearing despite being shown a letter from a supervising doctor verifying the emergency.
